Al-Sultan Abdullah's eldest sister Tengku Meriam heads Pahang honours list

KUANTAN: Tengku Puteri Seri Lela Wangsa Tengku Tan Sri Dr Meriam Al-Marhum Sultan Ahmad Shah, the eldest sister of the Sultan of Pahang, heads the state’s awards and honours list in conjunction with the Ruler’s 65th birthday.

Sultan of Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah presented the awards, medals and honours at the investiture ceremony at Balai Mahkota, Istana Abdulaziz, here on Thursday (Sept 12).

Tengku Meriam was conferred the Darjah Kebesaran Al-Sultan Abdullah Pahang Yang Amat Di Mulia - Peringkat Pertama Sri Setia Al-Sultan Abdullah Ahmad Shah (SAAS), which carries the title "Datuk Sri Setia".

Al-Sultan Abdullah bestowed the Darjah Kebesaran Sultan Ahmad Shah Pahang Yang Amat Di Mulia - Peringkat Pertama Sri Sultan Ahmad Shah Pahang (SSAP), which carries the title "Datuk Seri" on Deputy Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk R. Ramanan and former health ministry secretary-general Datuk Harjeet Singh.

Also receiving the SSAP award were former Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) chief executive officer Datuk Indera Baharin Din and Southern Acids (M) Bhd managing director Dr Low Kok Thye.

At the ceremony, the Sultan of Pahang also awarded the Darjah Kebesaran Mahkota Pahang Yang Amat Mulia - Peringkat Pertama Sri Indera Mahkota Pahang (SIMP) award, which carries the title "Datuk Indera", to Joint Force Commander of the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) Lieutenant-General Datuk Noor Mohamad Akmar Mohd Dom and RMAF Air Operations commander Lieutenant-General Datuk Mohd Shahda Ismail.

Other recipients of the SIMP award were Tunku Abdul Rahman University Of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) president Prof Dr Lee Sze Wei and Menara Network Sdn Bhd managing director Datuk Ab Razif Asmuni.

Seven individuals, including senior counsel Tengku Shaiful Aftar Shah Tengku Datuk Mustafa from Messrs Nik Saghir & Ismail, received the Darjah Kebesaran Sultan Ahmad Shah Pahang Yang Amat Di Mulia - Peringkat Kedua Darjah Sultan Ahmad Shah Pahang (DSAP), which carries the title "Datuk".

Other recipients were National Water Research Institute of Malaysia deputy director-general Mohd Zaki Mat Amin, Yindi Group China chairman Zhu Yilong, Thailand Charoen Pokphand Group (China) deputy chairman Li Wenhai, RMAF Assistant Chief of Engineering Staff Major-General Hishammudin Abdul Rahman, RMAF Air Support Commander Major-General Masro Kaliwon and Asian Art Production Sdn Bhd managing director Rozaidi Baharudin.

Al-Sultan Abdullah awarded the Darjah Kebesaran Mahkota Pahang Yang Amat Mulia - Peringkat Kedua Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP), which carries the title "Datuk", to Orang Asli Development Department director-general Datuk Sapiah Mohamad Nor, Tanjung Lumpur assemblyman Rosli Abdul Jabar and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's political secretary Ahmad Farhan Fauzi.

The other DIMP recipients were Perak Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission director Ahmad Sabri Mohamed, Raub district officer Mohd Khuzaidi Harun, Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department deputy director (investigation/operations) Deputy Comm Fadil Marsus, and Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah deputy vice-chancellor (Academic and International Affairs) Lieutenant-Colonel Prof Dr Ahmad Ziad Sulaiman.

Also conferred the DIMP award were RHB Banking Group managing director Mohd Rashid Mohamad, Stella Maris International School (Kuala Lumpur) president Tang Beng Cheok and FMT Media Sdn Bhd executive chairman Nelson Fernandez. – Bernama
