Pahang Sultan's daughter weds


KUANTAN: The daughter of the Sultan of Pahang, Tengku Puteri Raja Tengku Puteri Ilyana Alia, and her partner, Christopher Lionel Froggatt, were married on Friday (Aug 7) in Kuala Lumpur.

Sultan of Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah attended the solemnisation of the marriage.

Also present were Regent of Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, his younger siblings and members of the royal family.

According to a post on the Kesultanan Pahang's Facebook page, the solemnisation of the marriage was conducted by Pahang Mufti Datuk Dr Asmadi Mohamed Naim.

The groom then performed the sunnah prayer before the ceremony continued with the couple's procession to the dais for the presentation of the 'mas kahwin' and the exchange of wedding rings.

"The ceremony then continued with the recitation of prayers before the 'merenjis' was held as a symbolic gesture of blessings and prayers for the couple's well-being," it said. – Bernama
