JOHOR BARU: Marriott International is collaborating with local property developer SKS Group to develop a four-star hotel known as Courtyard Marriot Subang in Selangor.

This will be SKS Group’s third collaboration with Marriott International, following the successful launch of Four Points by Sheraton Desaru in 2021 and the opening of Sheraton Johor Baru next year.

A signing ceremony was held here recently between both parties.

“We are thrilled to partner with the SKS Group to expand our Courtyard by Marriott brand in one of Malaysia’s most dynamic commercial and cultural epicentres,” Hotel Development, Asia-Pacific, Marriott International senior director Andree Susilo said in a statement.

“Subang is a flourishing, with increasing demand from both international and domestic travellers, making it an ideal fit for Courtyard by Marriott where guests are offered everything they need while travelling for business or leisure.

“This agreement highlights our steadfast commitment to the future of hospitality in Malaysia and underscores the trust our owners place in our brand,” Susilo said adding that the 280-room hotel was slated to open in 2026.

Other facilities include a restaurant, a state-of-the-art rooftop pool, versatile event spaces, a 10,763 sf/ft ballroom and four meeting rooms.

SKS Group head of hospitality Meera Raj said that the collaboration sets the stage that would further propel the hotel industry to greater heights in Malaysia and underscores their shared vision and mutual dedication to provide exceptional hospitality experiences.

“Our thoughtfully designed guestrooms will allow guests to relax, recharge, and thrive, regardless of the purpose of their visit,” added Raj.
