Fundraiser targets Business and social communities for a good cause
MARRIOTT International Hotels and Resorts, together with the Marriott Worldwide Business Council Malaysia, will stage the return of its annual Charity Golf Day on June 20, 2026, at Palm Garden Golf Club in Putrajaya.
Held under the theme: Tee Off for a Cause, Make Every Swing Count, the event brings together golfers from the business and social communities for a day built around purpose‑driven engagement and collective charitable impact.
The programme extends beyond the fairways, culminating in the Flames of Malaysia Cook‑Off Dinner at Le Méridien Putrajaya’s Millennium Ballroom, featuring curated food stalls from Marriott International Malaysia hotels, live and silent auctions, prizes and entertainment.
Organising chairman Derrick Felix, who also serves as general manager of Courtyard by Marriott Kuala Lumpur South, said the event reflects the company’s belief in the power of collective action.
“At Marriott International, our Charity Golf Day is a reflection of what can be achieved when purpose unites people, transforming every connection, every swing and every contribution into meaningful impact that extends far beyond the course.
“Beyond the game, this initiative reflects our commitment to uplifting communities and supporting meaningful causes such as UNICEF and the Malaysian Olympism in Action Society (MOiAS).”
This year’s edition is backed by Top Glove Corporation Bhd as the main sponsor and IOI Properties Group Berhad as the venue sponsor, a partnership that underscores shared commitments to sustainability, social responsibility and community empowerment, said Derrick.
Funds raised will support UNICEF, the Malaysian Olympism in Action Society and local community initiatives.
Aligned with Marriott International’s global Serve 360: Doing Good in Every Direction initiative, the charity golf day reinforces the company’s long‑standing dedication to community engagement.
The event aims to raise a minimum of RM150,000, with all proceeds benefitting community projects and children’s welfare programmes.
The events is an 18‑hole tournament with green fees, caddy and shared buggy included, and a Marriott Bonvoy golf shirt, cap and goodie bag.
It will use a stroke play format, with nine tournament novelty contests with prizes, and is limited to 128 participants.
The Golf Day tickets cost RM898 nett per golfer, inclusive of Flames of Malaysia Cook‑Off the Millennium Ballroom, Le Méridien Putrajaya, from 6pm onwards, the ticket prices here are RM198 nett per adult (non‑alcohol package), RM298 nett per adult (alcohol package) and RM120 nett per child (6-12 years old).
Guests will enjoy a vibrant buffet featuring global and Malaysian favourites, free‑flow beverages and a luxury auction offering getaway experiences across Asia Pacific.
Live music and entertainment round out an evening designed to blend fine dining, celebration and charitable purpose.
