PETALING JAYA: The forest area near the Sepang District Police Headquarters (IPD) caught fire in an incident early Monday morning (Aug 3).
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Director of Operations, Ashrul Riezal Asbar, said his department received an emergency call regarding the incident at 1.48am, reported Sinar Harian.
"A total of 14 personnel and officers from the KLIA Fire and Rescue Station, as well as assistance from Sepang with machinery, were dispatched to the location, which is 8.5km away," he said in a statement on Monday.
Ashrul Riezal said the operations commander informed that the fire involved a hilly forest area near the Sepang IPD.
"The fire is estimated to involve an area of approximately 2.8 hectares. Extinguishing operations are underway to control the fire from spreading further," he said.
