A WOMAN lost 28kg over a year and a half just so she could cosplay as Chun-Li, her favourite character from the Street Fighter video game series, China Press reported.
Going by the moniker Souu, the woman in Japan is an avid cosplayer. But since becoming a mother, her weight reached a peak of 78kg.
Souu was determined to make a change so that she could play the characters she loved. She embarked on an 18-month weight loss journey with exercise and dietary changes.
Rather than reducing portions, she changed her eating habits. She swapped white rice for brown rice and avoided refined carbohydrates such as white bread.
She gave up fried food and replaced them with lean meats and other sources of protein which are low in fat.
Finally, she prioritised eating vegetables, which helped to keep her blood sugar levels stable.
> The management of a building in Taipei, Taiwan, sparked controversy after its staff were seen installing large plastic mats with spikes around the pillars to prevent pets from relieving themselves there, China Press reported.
Photos circulating online showed plastic mats covering the space outside the building located at Zhongzheng District with spikes pointing upwards.
“If a child trips and falls onto the spikes, it could be disastrous,” one netizen said.
Others urged the building management to just install CCTV cameras to catch errant pet owners.
