Johor MB is new state Umno chief


PETALING JAYA: Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi has been appointed state Umno chief with immediate effect, says Datuk Seri Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki.

The Umno secretary-general also announced that Datuk Rozi Mamat had been appointed as the Terengganu Umno chief with immediate effect.

In a Facebook post Thursday (Dec 7), Asyraf Wajdi thanked the outgoing state Umno chiefs, Datuk Seri Ahmad Said in Terengganu and Datuk Seri Mohamad Khaled Nordin in Johor.

"Heartiest congratulations to Rozi and Onn Hafiz.

"I would also like to express my heartfelt appreciation to Ahmad and Mohamad Khaled on behalf of the Umno family.

"May we continue efforts to strengthen and empower Umno," he said in his post.
