Azmir Saifuddin is new Finas CEO


KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Azmir Saifuddin Mutalib has been appointed as the new CEO of the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas), effective on Wednesday.

Finas, in a statement on Oct 31 said the appointment is for a period of two years until Oct 31, 2025.

Azmir Saifuddin, who graduated with a degree in Computing from Sheffield Hallam University, in the United Kingdom, started his career at the Creative Multimedia Division of the Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and was previously a managing director at Base FX.

"Based on his extensive expertise and experience in the creative industry, Finas is confident that Azmir Saifuddin is able to shoulder and carry out the responsibility to drive the Malaysian film industry to a higher level," according to the statement. -Bernama
