Gombak Setia assemblyman to take legal action against eviction order

GOMBAK: Legal action will be taken, incumbent Gombak Setia assemblyman Muhammad Hilman Idham says, after an eviction order to vacate the Gombak Setia service centre was issued.

In a statement on Wednesday (June 28), Muhammad Hilman said that the centre was ordered to vacate the premises on June 27.

"However the order was not signed by the district officer but by the assistant district officer (enforcement).

"I would like to stress that the excuse given stating no permission from the state government to operate the centre is a stupid and illogical one as the Gombak Setia service centre has already been operating there for over five years, with the full knowledge of the state government.

"It is clear that this is an abuse of power, a threat and a political vendetta by the Selangor state government led by (Datuk Seri) Amirudin Shari.

"I have informed my lawyer to take the necessary steps to protest this move and to take further action," he said.

In his statement he also shared a photo of the eviction notice, stating that the centre was operating on government land without permission.

A legal letter objecting to the eviction notice was also shared. The letter was addressed to assistant district officer Syahrul Fahmi Shaari.
