A YOUNG man in Taiping, Perak, has been living as a homeless person for over a year after he was apparently kicked out of his home for failing to give money to his stepfather, reported Kosmo!
The young man, who only wanted to be known as Daniel, 20, claimed that his stepfather began demanding payments from him as soon as he was old enough to work, which caused him significant stress.
“After my father died about seven years ago, my household situation began to change, especially after my mother remarried.
“I had to work various jobs to pay my stepfather every month and was also often scolded by him for no reason until, eventually, I was kicked out for failing to give him money in January last year.
“I felt isolated because my mother and other siblings did not even try to stop my stepfather.
“I don’t know what I did wrong to be treated like this. I became homeless for a year until a kind man took me in for a while before helping me find a home at the Marhaen Taiping Welfare Organisation,” he said.
Daniel, who now works at a nearby hotel, said he still loves his mother and other siblings and hopes that he would be able to reunite with them.
> Hospitalised veteran singer Rohana Jalil’s condition is currently semi-critical, according to her daughter Syakila Nisa Jahangir Khan, Harian Metro reported.
Syakila Nisa, 30, who goes by the name Kilafairy, said her mother’s condition had improved slightly, although she remained at high risk.
“Mama is still under ‘close monitoring’ by the doctors as she is still at a high risk of infection, which is why she can’t be moved to a normal ward yet.
“Please don’t stop praying for her. There is still a long way to go for her to fully recover,” she said.
The 68-year-old songstress was previously rushed to the intensive care unit after an intestinal perforation caused her to collapse during a performance on April 16.
