KOTA TINGGI: Three people were killed in an accident involving two cars at KM80, Jalan Johor Baru-Mersing on Tuesday (Aug 26) near here.
Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Yusof Othman said police received a call about the incident involving a Honda City and a Toyota Vios at 5.25pm.
“The Vios lost control, swerved into the opposite lane, and collided with the Honda City,’’ he said in a statement.
Supt Yusof said the Vios was driven by a 21-year-old local male with a 20-year-old local female passenger, while the Honda City was driven by a 35-year-old local man.
He added that all three victims suffered serious injuries and were pronounced dead by the assistant medical officer who was on duty at the scene.
“The bodies have been sent to Kota Tinggi Hospital for post-mortem,’’ said Supt Yusof, and the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
