A BOMOH was arrested along with a woman who was living in his house in Bedong, Kedah, by religious authorities, Kosmo! reported.
Kuala Muda religious officer Mohd Noor Ismardi Ismail said his office had received reports from members of the public who had seen a woman visiting the bomoh’s home on Thursday.
He said the bomoh, 65, had challenged them to prove the allegations so they visited his home at 2am.
Enforcement officers along with individuals from the Badar Squad, an anti-vice NGO, found the woman, 35, hiding on the upper floor of the house.
“When we introduced ourselves the bomoh said he was alone.”
Mohd Noor said the investigation revealed the woman, who was seeking advise over her divorce, had visited and spent the night at the bomoh’s house several times before.
“The bomoh lives alone while his paralysed wife is being looked after by their son, who resides outside this district.
They were ordered to appear in the Kuala Muda Syariah Court.
> Although she is not their biological mother, Nurain Dona Dameria Abdullah, 40, continues to raise her two stepsons aged 20 and 21, even after her separation from their father, Harian Metro reported.
Nurain’s story gained attention among netizens after she posted a video about her stepsons on TikTok.
Nurain said she shared the video because she wanted to show that not all stepmothers are vicious or vengeful as is often portrayed in films.
