Three killed in Sandakan terrace house fire


Firemen found three bodies after they put a fire at a terrace house at Taman Rajawali in Sandakan.

KOTA KINABALU: A man and two women perished in a fire when they were trapped inside their double storey terrace house in Taman Rajawali, Sandakan.

The charred remains of the three were found lying in the hall of the house after the firemen put out the fire at about 11pm on Friday (Aug 19).

A state Fire and Rescue Services Department spokesman said that the identity of the three were not immediately known.

He said that they have handed over the bodies to the police for further investigations.

Firemen are also investigating the cause of the fire.

He said firemen received a distress call at 10.35pm on Friday, and the fire is believed to have started at about 10pm.

The firemen took about 20 minutes to bring the fire under control and successfully stopped it from spreading to the adjacent houses.
