PETALING JAYA: Politicians from across the divide have been offering their condolences on the passing away of Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.
Many also took to social media to pay tribute to the former Selangor mentri besar.

Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said he and his family were deeply saddened to hear the news of Khalid's passing.
He offered his condolences to Khalid's family and described him as a firm leader who was the soul of the people.
"May God bless his soul and grant his family fortitude in this difficult time," he said in a post on Facebook Monday (Aug 1).

MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong also paid tribute to Khalid, saying that his demise was a big loss to Selangor.
"My deepest condolences to Abdul Khalid's family. May he rest in peace," the Transport Minister said in a Facebook post.
International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, who suceeded Khalid as Selangor mentri besar, said he was saddened by the loss and offered his condolences to the family.
"May you be strong and patient in facing this test," he said in a Facebook post.
Selangor PAS secretary Roslan Shahir Mohd Shahir said Khalid's passing was a great loss to the people and the country.
"He was highly respected and loved by the people of teh state. Selangor PAS extends its condolences to Khalid's family as well," he said in a post on Selangor PAS' official Facebook page.
Segambut MP Hannah Yeoh said she was saddened by the news of Khalid's passing, adding that she had learnt a lot from him in her first term as Subang Jaya assemblyman.
"I was inexperienced and benefitted much from his advice and style of administration. He was prudent and careful with taxpayers' money," she said.
Tricia Yeoh, the CEO of the Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs (Ideas), also paid a moving tribute to Khalid, saying that she had worked for him as a research officer from 2009 to 2011.
"Tan Sri was humble, hard-working and thought ultimately about always doing the right thing. He constantly tried to find ways to make the state's money work for and on behalf of all Selangorians," she said in her Facebook post.
Khalid, who was also a former Bandar Tun Razak MP, passed away at 11.08pm on Sunday at the Sentral Cardiac Vascular Hospital in Kuala Lumpur.
