A TEENAGER in Kampar managed to escape from the clutches of a shirtless sexual predator by sinking her teeth into his arm after she was grabbed from behind, Sin Chew Daily reported.

According to Kampar OCPD Supt Mohamad Nazri Daud, the incident took place in Bandar Baru Kampar at 9pm on May 22 when the 19-year-old Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman student was walking towards some shops when a shirtless man suddenly grabbed her from behind.

“The victim fell and she bit him, which caused her teeth to crack.

“A male student witnessed the incident and rushed to her aid. The suspect then fled by running into nearby bushes,” Supt Mohamad Nazri said.

He added that it was dark and the victim could not see the suspect clearly.

Supt Mohamad Nazri confirmed that the victim made a police report and they were investigating the matter under Section 377D of the Penal Code for public act of gross indecency.

The police will be sending patrol cars and motorcycle units to monitor the area to prevent similar incidents.

> The daily also reported that Taiwanese singer Lin Wanfang was seen leaving Kuala Lumpur International Airport after completing the filming of Malaysian director Chong Keat Aun’s Snow in Midsummer.

“An empty airport. I am on my way home, while dressed all in black,” the 54-year-old wrote on Facebook.

Many fans wished her farewell and hoped she would be visiting Malaysia again soon.

It was earlier reported that Snow in Midsummer, which is Chong’s second feature-length film, began filming in Penang before moving to Kuala Lumpur on May 9.

The movie features cast members from Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan, including Pearly Chua, Lin, Pauline Tan, Cheng Jen-Shuo and Peter Yu.

The film is based on a true story of a Cantonese opera troupe in Malaysia in the 1950s and was inspired by Chong’s infatuation with the dying art of Chinese opera.
