THE remains of a missing teenager were found following a suspected crocodile attack in Ulu Sungai Plaie, Sarawak, Berita Harian reported.
The partial remains of Mohd Nordin Mohd Othman, 14, were found about 800m from the Kampung Tuba jetty at 8pm on Tuesday.
A Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department operations centre spokesman said the discovery followed information from a Kampung Tuba resident, who had spotted a crocodile with something in its mouth at about 6pm.
The villager was returning home after visiting the victim’s family in Kampung Plaie when he spotted the reptile.
“The villager then returned to the location at about 8pm and found the victim’s body,” the spokesman said.
The victim’s grandfather, Dana Randi, identified the remains.
> Veteran actress Datuk Fauziah Nawi, 73, believes established artistes should not belittle newcomers to assert their seniority, Utusan Malaysia reported.
Sharing her views in a post on Threads, she said such behaviour was senseless and served no purpose.
“Senior artistes do not need to belittle their successors to prove their greatness,” she said.
Fauziah added that experienced actors should instead draw on their knowledge and experience to help newcomers progress in the industry.
“The greatness of an artiste is evident when they can help others become better than themselves,” she said.
