Health Ministry: 10 new Covid-19 clusters, six linked to workplaces

PUTRAJAYA: The Health Ministry has uncovered 10 new Covid-19 clusters in the country, with six categorised as workplace infections.

The remaining four are community outbreaks detected in Johor and Pahang.

In a statement Thursday (Feb 4), Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there are now 421 active Covid-19 clusters nationwide.

On details of the new clusters, the Jalan Industri Rawang cluster has 23 confirmed cases found among workers of a factory at the Rawang Integrated Industrial Park, Selangor, where 156 individuals have undergone a targeted screening exercise.

The Jalan Gombak cluster has 41 positive cases and is linked to students and health workers of a higher learning institution in Jalan Gombak, Selangor.

The Jalan Jasmine cluster has 61 cases and is linked to a targeted screening exercise on two factories at the Bukit Beruntung Industrial Park in Hulu Selangor.

The Parit Penyengat cluster has 34 cases and is uncovered from a targeted screening exercise conducted at a hostel for factory workers in Muar, Johor.

The Kampung Lukut cluster has 15 cases and is a community outbreak at Kampung Lukut, Kota Tinggi.

The Jalan Jelutong cluster has seven cases and is linked to an outbreak at a workplace in Bandar Penawar in Kota Tinggi, Johor.

The Jalan Pengiran cluster has 20 cases and is traced to a staff member of a public administration centre in Matu, Sarawak.

The Permata Satu cluster has 31 cases and is linked to a targeted screening exercise on factory workers at the Arab Malaysian Industrial Park in Nilai, Negri Sembilan.

The Rantau Tanjung has 14 cases and has been traced to a 63-year-old woman who attended a social event in Maran, Pahang on Jan 16.

The Kampung Pulau Jawa cluster has 16 cases and is a community outbreak traced at a village in Pekan, Pahang.
