Indonesian woman jailed for spreading fake news on Covid-19


KUALA LUMPUR: A 31-year-old Indonesian woman was sentenced to a week in jail and fined RM1,000 by a Magistrate's Court here after she pleaded guilty to spreading fake news about Covid-19.

Fui Lina, who works as a salesgirl, was charged with circulating a false statement aimed at causing public mischief by spreading a rumour relating to Covid-19 on her Facebook account under the name Kimiko.
