KUALA LUMPUR: Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng should be the first to go in the event of a Cabinet reshuffle, says PAS deputy president Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.
"I believe that many have done their own polls and surveys, and within an hour, thousands support that the Finance Minister should be removed," the Kubang Kerian MP told reporters at the Parliament lobby on Thursday (Nov 21).
He gave several reasons for the removal of the Finance Minister, including the imbalance in funds between regions allocated under the 2020 Budget and his penchant for blaming the previous government for all problems.
"He failed in distributing the budget. All ministries complained about this.
"He also kept blaming the previous government.
"It has already been two years, but he keeps blaming the previous administration.
"When a new government takes over, they have to take over the burden and focus to the future, not just keep looking at the past.
"We admit there are weaknesses, but we must move forward," Tuan Ibrahim said.
It has been reported that changes to the Cabinet were on the cards, following Pakatan's dismal showing in the Tanjung Piai by-election.
Two months after he dismissed talks of ministers being replaced, Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad now says a reshuffle could happen soon.
