HUA HIN: After 42 years of existence, Asean finally has its own official anthem.

Titled The Asean Way, it was officially performed by the Royal Thai Navy Symphony Orchestra and sung by a 52-member choir at the opening of the 14th Asean Summit yesterday.

The Thai-composed anthem beat 99 entries from the region.

The 60-second song has lyrics reflecting Asean cooperation and solidarity and its diverse culture and ethnicity.
