Amazed by Sarawak’s rainforest music fest

I WAS thrilled when I saw the announcement of the Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) 2023.

It is truly amazing to witness Sarawak’s ability to host such a prestigious event.

This festival is a testament to Malaysia’s commitment in promoting arts, culture and tourism on a global stage.

Sarawak has proven itself to be a capable and enthusiastic host, showcasing its rich heritage and diverse music traditions to the world.

RWMF has become a highly anticipated event that brings together musicians and music lovers from different parts of the world to celebrate the universal language of music.

I am particularly impressed by Malaysia’s ability to challenge misconceptions and stereotypes through events like this.

Previously, I had certain misconceptions about Sarawak and its people.

However, my first and only trip to Kuching showed me the state’s modernity and vibrancy, and the diverse and contemporary lifestyle of Sarawakians.

This festival not only provides a good platform for local and international musicians to showcase their talent but also promotes the country as a culturally rich destination for tourists and music lovers alike.

I have wanted to attend RWMF since 2018 but was never fortunate enough to do so.

I am excited to share that this year, I’m finally going to the music festival.

I have purchased my three-day pass to the festival and booked my Malaysia Airlines flight tickets to Sarawak.

I can’t wait to experience this incredible event. RWMF 2023, here I come!
