CHILDREN and families in Seremban, Negri Sembilan, got into the Deepavali spirit with a festive shopping treat.
The early celebration was part of “The Light We Carry”, a community outreach programme by Matrix Concepts Holdings Bhd to mark its 30th anniversary.
The initiative, supported by Matrix Concepts Foundation, brought together pupils from SJKT Bandar Sri Sendayan and children from Shekinah Care Centre, along with their families.
Foundation vice-chairman Datuk Batumalai Ramasamy said the programme aimed to ease families’ financial burdens during the festive season while giving them a chance to celebrate together.
“We hope to share the warmth of the festival with children and families, especially those who may have fewer opportunities to take part in such celebrations.
“We strive to make sure that no one feels left out, and that every child and family has the chance to experience the joy of coming together, feel a sense of belonging and create memories they can cherish,” said Batumalai.
Also present was Matrix Concepts group managing director Kelvin Lee.
As part of the programme, each participating family received a RM300 Mydin voucher to buy festive clothing and essentials.
The families later gathered for a festive lunch at d’Tempat Country Club in Bandar Sri Sendayan.
The celebration ended with a matinee performance by the Great British Circus, which is currently performing in Bandar Sri Sendayan.
