THE Deepavali Bazaar in Brickfields, at its new location, has drawn a steady stream of visitors since its opening on Oct 9.

The Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) bazaar is operating for 30 days until Nov 7.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh said DBKL had allocated RM1.8mil for various initiatives to support this year’s Deepavali celebrations.

She said the measures included providing the necessary infrastructure to ensure the bazaar ran smoothly, and reducing stall rental to RM400 to ease traders’ financial burden.

“I hope both traders and shoppers will feel more comfortable at this DBKL bazaar,” she said after visiting the site located at the DBKL Sports and Recreation Centre in Jalan Tun Sambanthan 1.

Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Seri Fadlun Mak Ujud was also present.

Yeoh expressed hope that more visitors would turn up to support the traders.

The Deepavali bazaar features 150 stalls operating daily from 10am to midnight.
