SUBANG Jaya City Council (MBSJ) has upgraded two recreational parks under its Landscape Department’s 2026 special projects to provide more inclusive and conducive spaces for the local community.
The upgrades amounting to more than RM1.07mil involved the Jalan SS15/5G neighbourhood park in Subang Jaya and Taman Tasik Wawasan in Pusat Bandar Puchong, Puchong.
The RM351,500 project at the Jalan SS15/5G neighbourhood park was carried out over three months.
Designed around a “Smart City Neighbourhood Park” concept, the park now features inclusive children’s play equipment, badminton and basketball courts, exercise equipment, solar lighting and solar-powered closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras.
“This facility provides residents with a wider range of recreational and sports activities, while incorporating technological elements through the use of solar lighting and solar-powered CCTV cameras,” MBSJ’s Corporate and Strategic Management Department said in a media statement.
Meanwhile, the RM727,347 upgrading works at Taman Tasik Wawasan took nearly seven months to be completed.
The park was developed under the “Taman Rakyat Madani” concept which aims to transform public spaces into high-quality, people-centric green zones.
It has been fitted with an inclusive playground set, a parkour set, exercise equipment, a gazebo, pedestrian walkways and solar-powered lights.
MBSJ said these enhancements complete the park’s leisure, exercise and play amenities, while the new gazebo and landmark signboard strengthen the park’s identity as a key community hub in Pusat Bandar Puchong.
