Tribunal orders partial refund for missing wedding media

IT has been nearly two years since their wedding, but a couple from Gelang Patah, Johor, has yet to receive photos and videos of their nuptials.

Technician PT Sidathran (pic) said he signed up for a wedding photography and videography service from a firm in Perak, in October 2023.

“The original cost was RM7,200 but they charged us just RM5,200 as we booked two sessions,” he said when met outside the Johor Consumer Claims Tribunal in Johor Baru.

The claimant said he paid a RM2,000 booking fee on Oct 21, 2023, and then RM2,400 on July 21, 2024.

“The final payment of RM800 was to be paid 90 days after the ceremony.”

The package included a wedding album with 130 photos, two framed photos of the church ceremony and reception and a USB drive with the wedding video.

“Our church wedding was in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, on Aug 9, 2024, and the reception was in Shah Alam the next day.

“We waited until February 2025 and when we called, they said the items would arrive in April.”

The package was never delivered.

Tribunal president Hafez Zalkapli ordered the respondent to refund the claimant a total of RM4,400.
