Perak government is continuing its 2026 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) additional reference book initiative under the “Tuisyen Cikgu Saarani” programme (TCS), distributing 63,303 copies to students statewide this year.
Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad (pic) said the initiative, led by Perak Foundation in collaboration with the Perak State Education Department, targeted students with the potential to pass, helping them master core subjects through structured, concise and effective learning materials.
“This year’s distribution, up from over 53,000 copies last year, reflects the state government’s ongoing commitment to advancing education,” he told Bernama at a media briefing during the book handover at Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan.
Saarani said the initiative would, for the first time, also include potential candidates from Sekolah Menengah Tahfiz Darul Ridzuan and Sekolah Menengah Agama Rakyat under the Perak Islamic Religious Department.
The reference books were developed by experienced educators based on an analysis of students’ needs, emphasising concept mastery and exam answering techniques.
Saarani said the state government would continue supporting educational initiatives through Perak Foundation and the state Education Department to positively impact student achievement and the development of the state’s human capital.
