Man crashes car into Ipoh entertainment outlet

IPOH: A 37-year-old man lost control of his vehicle, colliding with an entertainment outlet building here on Tuesday (May 19).

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Muhammad Najib Hamzah said that the accident occurred at around 4pm while the driver was travelling from Medan Istana to an office at Jalan Sultan Nazrin Shah via Jalan Sultan Idris Shah.

“When the driver arrived at the Jalan Raja Ekram junction, the vehicle is believed to have experienced steering system problems, causing him to lose control, veering to the right side of the road and crashing into the building,” he said in a statement.

ACP Muhammad Najib said the driver did not suffer any injuries in the incident.

However, the vehicle sustained damage to the front bumper, both headlights, bonnet and the front left and right fenders.

He said police had conducted investigations at the scene and taken photographs for documentation purposes.

“The case has been classified under Rule 10 LN166/59 and a summons has been issued to the driver involved,” he added.

ACP Muhammad Najib also advised vehicle owners to always ensure their vehicles are in good condition to prevent unwanted incidents on the road.
