Ipoh entrepreneur’s initiative helps women scale up business

Driven by a vision to see more women thrive in business, entrepreneur M. Malliga is helping small business owners grow through her She Synergy Network initiative.

Malliga, who runs a plumbing and piping business, said the platform began about 10 years ago to provide a dedicated support system for women to develop their business.

She said the initiative was built on the strong belief that women could achieve more by collaborating and growing together rather than competing in isolation.

“We have supported hundreds of women, helping them grow and generate income.

“With better financial stability, these women have also strengthened their family bonds,” she told StarMetro.

While based in Ipoh, Perak, she said the network’s reach extended beyond the city, drawing participants from other states through live online sessions.

“My intention has always been to help women grow with practical knowledge, confidence and the right business direction.”

Malliga said all activities were volunteer-based, fuelled by a shared mission to uplift others.

“Our activities are designed to help women start generating income, boost career growth and support their families.

“These include workshops and mentorship sessions on business strategy, marketing and growth.

“We also guide our participants on navigating e-commerce, skill sharing and networking to build connections and foster potential collaborations,” she added.

To mark International Women’s Day, Malliga and two moderators held a networking session with 25 women from various business sectors.

“We guided the participants on understanding business fundamentals and trained them to conduct online promotions.

“As part of our mentoring approach, we monitor their development and have set a 30% business growth target for them,” she said. — By IVAN LOH
