THE Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT) and its business group have contributed RM510,500 to support local relief efforts and international peacekeeping missions.

This reflects its enduring commitment to the welfare, resilience and dignity of the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) who dedicate their lives to safeguard the nation while projecting Malaysia’s values of peace and compassion abroad, LTAT said in a statement.

The contributions included RM400,000 to the MAF Natural Disaster Emergency Fund in response to the devastating floods and landslides that struck Sabah.

This support provided immediate financial assistance for relief and recovery and served as a symbol of solidarity with the MAF personnel and their families who were directly affected, LTAT said.

It was the collective effort of LTAT, Affin Bank Bhd, Boustead Holdings Bhd, BHIC Submarine Engineering Services Sdn Bhd Boustead Petroleum Marketing Sdn Bhd, Boustead Plantations Bhd, Pharmaniaga Bhd, Boustead Heavy Industries Corporation Bhd, Boustead Hotels & Resorts, Mutiara Spaces by Boustead Properties, UAC Bhd, Power Cables Malaysia, Perbadanan Perwira Niaga Malaysia and Trans Resources Corporation Sdn Bhd.

The symbolic cheque presentation was held during the Defence Ministry’s “Program Jelajah Wira Madani” at the Royal Malaysian Navy base in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

The contribution was formally received by MAF headquarters chief of staff Lt Gen Datuk Azhan Md Othman on behalf of the chief of defence force Gen Tan Sri Mohd Nizam Jaffar, in the presence of Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin.

Beyond financial aid, Pharmaniaga mobilised its Skuad Operasi Sihat (SOS) to deliver emergency food supplies and essentials to six temporary evacuation centres in Penampang and Membakut, and supported employees affected by the disaster.

Supporting Malaysia’s global peacekeeping operations, LTAT and its companies also raised RM110,500 for the Malaysian Battalion (MalBatt) deployed under the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon.

The contribution will aid in the continuation of humanitarian and community outreach programmes.

A symbolic handover ceremony was held at MalBatt Village in Port Dickson, Negri Sembilan, marking the second consecutive year that LTAT and its companies have coordinated support for MalBatt’s humanitarian efforts abroad.

LTAT chief executive officer Mohammad Ashraf Md Radzi said: “We firmly believe that our duty extends beyond managing the retirement savings of the armed forces.

“It is our moral responsibility to stand with the community through every challenge they face, whether at home in times of disaster or abroad in the service of peace.

“These contributions are more than financial commitments, they are symbols of solidarity, compassion and shared responsibility.

“We are proud to walk alongside our nation’s heroes, ensuring their welfare and reinforcing Malaysia’s role as a nation of peace and resilience.”
