TWO siblings from Sibu, Sarawak, have finally obtained their identification documents, thanks to the PKR Lanang branch.

Four-year-old Augustine Ijan has already secured his while his sister, Rovina Rata, 10, will get hers in three to six months.

Branch chairman Michael Lee said he and vice-president Lee See Ming helped the siblings apply for their identification documents at the National Registration Department (JPN) on Sept 23.

“Rovina did not have the document as her mother did not have hers,” Michael said during the branch’s Mooncake Festival event.

“But her mother has successfully obtained her identification document, so the process for Rovina was easier.

“As for Augustine, it was due to a delay in registering his birth during the movement control order.”

Now Rovina can register with the Education Department for schooling.

The siblings’ case came to light during a Lanang food basket distribution programme by Miri MP Chiew Choon Man.
