THE first solar-powered Harvey Norman store has opened its doors at The Beat in Kiara Bay, Kepong, Kuala Lumpur.

Harvey Norman Singapore and Malaysia managing director Bernice Kwok said the retailer’s 39th store was designed with sustainability in mind.

Kwok said the 43,000sq ft space provided customers the opportunity to explore, experience and enjoy shopping for electrical and home appliances, computers and mobile devices as well as bedding under one roof.

“From energy to water-efficient washers to a wide range of healthy cooking appliances and connected fitness devices, every product is selected to help customers live better.

“We also have a wide range of recliners and mattresses designed to promote relaxation, better posture and improved well-being.

Kwok says the store will pilot ‘Click, Park and Collect’ where online purchases will be delivered to customers’ vehicles. Kwok says the store will pilot ‘Click, Park and Collect’ where online purchases will be delivered to customers’ vehicles.

“There are also AI-powered laptops for professionals, students and families, alongside smart small appliances that simplify daily routines, from intelligent air fryers to the newest robotic and cordless vacuums that make life easier,” she said at the grand opening, adding that there were AI experts and sales specialists to offer assistance.

For added convenience, the store would be the first to pilot the “Click, Park and Collect” model, allowing customers to place orders online, park in designated lots near the store and have their purchases delivered directly to their vehicles.

“This is an extension of our existing Click-and-Collect model, where customers can buy online and pick up at the store.

“With the Click, Park, and Collect, the customer won’t need to leave his vehicle.

“If all goes well, it will be extended to other stores.”

Present was Mega Legacy (M) Sdn Bhd chairman Datuk Azmar Talib.

Kiara Bay was developed by Mega Legacy, a collaboration between UEM Sunrise Bhd and Melati Ehsan Holdings Bhd.

Azmar said he believes that the outlet would serve as a benchmark for sustainable retail in the country.

“As a master developer, Mega Legacy remains committed to collaborating with brands and partners who share our long-term sustainability vision.

“Harvey Norman’s presence introduces a distinctive value proposition, offering an extensive range of home and lifestyle products while championing a sustainability-driven ethos, from energy-efficient appliances to eco-friendly materials.

“This partnership reflects our shared values and ambition to shape Kiara Bay into a destination where lifestyle and sustainability go hand-in-hand.”

To celebrate the grand opening of its 39th store, Harvey Norman is having a sale until Nov 26, with discounts of up to 80%.
