New business park in Iskandar Malaysia focuses on sustainability

AKASIA Business Park is well- positioned to take advantage of Johor’s robust economic growth and progress under Maju Johor 2030 vision.

Its chief executive officer Melvin Lee said the project, strategically located at the border of Ulu Tiram and Kota Tinggi, was set to attract investors looking to grow their operations.

“Our project focuses on sustainability to support business growth and environmental responsibility,” he said after the opening of Akasia Business Park sales gallery.

It was launched by Johor investment, trade, consumer affairs and human resources committee chairman Lee Ting Han.

Also present at the event were Iskandar Regional Development Authority chief executive Datuk Mohd Noorazam Osman, Invest Johor general manager Syed Aminuddin Syed Salleh, Malaysian Investment Development Authority (Mida) Johor director Mohamad Reduan Mohd Zabri and Akasia Business Park chairman Lee Kwee Cheng.

Melvin said the project was linked via the Pasir Gudang Highway, Senai-Desaru Expressway, providing easy access to Johor Baru, Port of Tanjung Pelepas and Singapore.

“Connectivity, accessibility as well as efficient transportation are vital for the movements of raw materials and finished goods; hence reducing logistics costs,” he highlighted.

He said the development was also close to key industrial zones in Johor Baru, Pasir Gudang, Pengerang and Kota Tinggi, and surrounded by residential and commercial developments.

He noted this would ensure a steady labour supply with access to skilled and semi-skilled workers, reducing hiring challenges.

“These are our strong selling points to attract potential investors and companies to set up their operations and activities in the business park,” said Melvin.

He said the project, sited on 47.5ha of freehold industrial land, was ideal for manufacturing, warehousing and logistics operations.

Melvin said the project’s developer, Tiram Industrial Park Sdn Bhd, had a track record of over 20 years in commercial and industrial developments in Plentong and Permas Jaya areas.

“Akasia Business Park incorporates environmental, social and governance (ESG) elements, making it attractive for businesses requiring ESG compliance,” he said.

He added that with modern design, business-friendly facilities, and long term-growth potential, the project commanded a strong valuation, reinforcing its position as a top-tier industrial investment.

The sales gallery is located at No.20 & 20A, Jalan Akasia 1, Taman Perindustrian Akasia, Kota Tinggi.
