MEMBERS of the public particularly the B40 group who cannot afford to puchase hospital beds can now borrow one from Sibu Life Care Society (SLCS).

Sarawak Public Health, Housing and Local Government Deputy Minister Datuk Michael Tiang said those who could not afford hospital beds could get one from SLCS on loan by placing a refundable deposit of RM500.

Speaking to reporters at the handover of a hospital bed to the society, he also praised the good gesture of the society in promoting a caring community.

“I learned that they are soliciting donations to purchase medical equipment, such as hospital beds,” he said.

“Today, I’m donating a hospital bed to them. We will work together in other aspects,” he added.

Tiang said the public could also call the society for ambulance services.

“Sibu has a shortage of ambulances. We cannot always depend on the hospital, so the people can always call on the society for ambulance services as they have a new ambulance,” Tiang said.
