Fee to be imposed on foreigners using GoKL buses

FOREIGNERS using the GoKL buses by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) will be charged a fee.

City Hall said in a statement that the bus charges will be implemented in stages for its four lines namely the Green, Purple, Red and Blue Line.

“Payment can be made via Touch n’ Go (TNG) card, QR code, credit card or debit card. Malaysians can still use the bus service for free provided they register their MyKad fitted with a TNG system.

“Children 12 years old and below can also enjoy the bus services for free,” said DBKL.

However, DBKL did not mention when it will start charging foreigners using GoKL or how much is the transportation fee.

Malaysians who wish to have their MyKad registered can do so at KLCC bus stop, Titiwangsa (Pekeliling) final stop and Pasar Seni final stop from 7am to noon and 2pm to 7pm, starting Dec 1.

They can also register at the lobby of Menara DBKL 1 starting Dec 6, every Wednesday, from 9am to noon and 2pm to 4pm.
