THE temporary road closures and traffic diversions in PUJ 3, Taman Puncak Jalil (PUJ) have been revised, following feedback and input from local residents.

The affected roads are: Persiaran Puncak Jalil, Persiaran Puncak Jalil 1, Jalan Puncak Jalil, Jalan PUJ 3/3, Jalan PUJ 3/6 and Jalan PUJ 3/10.

The temporary road closures and diversions in Taman PUJ are effective Wednesday (Feb 23) and are expected to end on April 17.

A map on the diversions will be posted on the Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) social media platforms.

The road diversions for pipe installation works for the Langat 2 water treatment plant and distribution system (LRAL2) project were revised after local residents said the earlier version was dangerous and had resulted in a fatal accident.

A briefing was held on Sunday (Feb 20) between stakeholders, the project contractor, MBSJ representatives and Kinrara assemblyman Ng Sze Han, following complaints that there was no stakeholder engagement before the diversions were implemented.

“Pipe dredging works involving some of the affected roads have started, from the PUJ 6 traffic light intersection (from Bandar Kinrara direction) heading towards PUJ 4,” MBSJ Corporate and Strategic Management Department deputy director Azfarizal Abdul Rashid said in a statement Tuesday (Feb 22).

“The council has issued permits for the contractor Suhati Sdn Bhd to install mild steel pipes of 1,200mm in diameter in that area.

“We urge all residents and motorists to cooperate and comply with the traffic dispersal system to ensure a smooth traffic flow. All motorists are advised to be patient and be mindful of the directional signboards and flagmen’s instructions to ensure their safety.”

Complaints or information on the LRAL2 pipe installation project in Taman PUJ can be directed to 019-274 7514 (Kamarudzaman Sakom)/012-760 1778 (Khairon Nizam)/ 019-324 2707 (Syaiful) from the contractor’s office or MBSJ’s command centre at 03-8024 7700.
