Road closures, diversions in Sunway, Maju Jaya on Aug 2

PETALING JAYA: Several areas in Sunway and Maju Jaya will experience road closures and traffic diversions next month to facilitate the Allianz Duo Highway Challenge 2026.

Selangor Police Chief Comm Datuk Shazeli Kahar said the sporting event, scheduled for Augt 2, will affect multiple locations, including areas near Sunway Clio, the Maju Jaya U-turn, and parts of Taman Medan.

"The running event will utilise two major highways: the Besraya Expressway and the New Pantai Expressway (NPE)," Comm Shazeli said in a statement on Tuesday (July 14).

"The route for the flagship 42km category spans across both Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. The Selangor section will cross 21 junctions, while the Kuala Lumpur segment will involve 24 junctions."

To manage traffic flow and ensure participant safety, a comprehensive deployment of approximately 75 police officers and personnel from the Selangor contingent will be on the ground.

Comm Shazeli advised motorists to plan ahead and utilise alternative routes to avoid potential delays.

"Members of the public are urged to cooperate fully by complying with instructions from traffic officers on duty to ensure the safety of all parties," he added.
