MoU for digital healthcare development

KOTA KINABALU: BookDoc and University Malaysia Sabah (UMS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to solidify a collaborative relationship between the two institutions in the areas of teaching and research.

The MoU signifies BookDoc’s commitment in contributing to the development of digital healthcare landscape in the country; while working with UMS to pave the way in realising UMS’ dream of establishing the first smart teaching hospital in East Malaysia.

UMS is an established university which strives to enhance and strengthen its academic cooperation and has taken various initiatives to complement its educational excellence.

Datuk Chevy Beh, the founder and CEO of BookDoc, said the collaboration enables both parties to join expertise in areas including; but not limited to,

the research of the Digital Transformation of Healthcare, Smart Hospital, Medical Tourism, and optimising access to healthcare and human capital.

“We are excited to work with an academic institution such as UMS to operationalise and digitise the hospital, aiming to contribute to the continuous development of the digital healthcare landscape in the region” he said.

With the collaboration, BookDoc will provide its platform to UMS for this purpose.

“We envisage this collaboration will help us to better understand the needs in realising digital healthcare from a teaching perspective and the new way services are rendered, which will be more data-driven and personalised,” he concluded.
