Plant shutdown due to critical repair work, says Air Selangor

THE scheduled water cut from Tuesday to Friday in parts of the Klang Valley is necessary to ensure consumers do not suffer sudden water supply disruption, says Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd.

The company’s customer relation and communication department head Abdul Raof Ahmad said the water cut for four days was to enable critical equipment repair works at the Sungai Selangor Phase Three Water Treatment Plant (SSP3) tomorrow.

Repair works are expected to take approximately 10 hours.

“It is necessary to do the repairs. It is better for customers to face a temporary water cut instead of facing a sudden unscheduled disruption,” he added.

Abdul Raof apologised for the inconvenience customers had to face and said the utility company had put in place a relief plan to assist those affected by the water cuts.

They have already sent their engagement team to the ground had set up on nine One-Stop-Service-Centres (OSSC).

The OSSCs will be equipped with jumbo tankers and water tankers as well as information counters and will be operational round the clock from 8am tomorrow until March 8.

Air Selangor and its subsidary, Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (Syabas) will also work to reconnect the water supply as soon as possible.

“We will try our best to expedite the task and ensure water supply is restored at the soonest.

“In the meantime, we hope the people can be patient and use water considerately,” Abdul Raof added.
