Food truck expands reach in Klang Valley after going viral
A CAFE in Kuala Lumpur which was a social media sensation in 2021, is still wooing fans with its scrumptious fare.
Bluum Roadside Café continues to attract customers from all around Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.
The eatery, which first opened in Taman Melawati in August 2021, has expanded to Kosas Ampang, Batu 6 Gombak, MSN Wangsa Maju and Aeon AU2 Setiawangsa.
Manoj Nelson Noronha-Sree, 20, who mans the Taman Melawati branch said customers’ favourite pastas include Spicy Aglio Olio, Mac & Cheese, and Creamy Thai.
“We have a special Thai paste that we use in our Creamy Thai,” said Manoj.

The Creamy Thai spaghetti is tossed in a spicy tom yam flavoured sauce, beef bacon, cherry tomatoes and mushrooms.
“Our bestseller cookies are Hershey’s Chocolate Chip and Chocolate Chip Walnut,” he said.
Pastas range in price from RM12 for Creamy Alfredo, Spicy Aglio Olio and Beef Bolognese to RM15 for Mac & Bolo, which is a creamy macaroni and cheese with mushrooms topped with beef-tomato sauce.
Red Velvet and Chocolate Chip Walnut cookies cost RM9 while Berry’s Pink and Matcha Dulcey are priced at RM12.

The stall is also popular for coffee, with its bestseller being the Salted Caramel Latte at RM8.
Its non-coffee beverage, Chocolate Crème Brulee at RM9 is a favourite among customers.
The Spicy Aglio Olio is a crowd favourite with spaghetti tossed with prawns, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, garlic, chilli and herbs.
“Our busiest time is between noon and 2pm and after work hours from 5pm to 7.30pm,” Manoj said, while noting that they are kept on their toes on weekends too.
The eatery is recognisable by its white tent.
“We used to operate from a truck but due to inconveniences such as rain, we switched to a tent,” said Manoj.
The branches in Kosas Ampang and MSN Wangsa Maju, however, still operate from food trucks.
The Taman Melawati branch also accepts online orders.
Opening hours differ but the Taman Melawati stall is open seven days a week, from 8am to 10pm, even on public holidays.
