Delicious, inventive baked treats

Nestled in the corner of a row of shop lots in an unassuming part of Bukit Jalil in Kuala Lumpur is a gorgeous café called Bake by Mel. The restaurant is an anachronistic addition to the area (which is dotted with mamak eateries and car workshops) but also a breath of fresh air, with its calm, serene interior dotted with artfully placed foliage and picture windows facing a green park outside.

The eatery is the brainchild of Damien Lee and his wife Melanie Pong – both Bukit Jalil stalwarts – whose previous restaurants CC by Mel and fine-dining eatery Zen by Mel have given them two amazing gifts: popularity and a solid reputation.
