SCIB proposes appointment of Morison LC as new external auditor

PETALING JAYA: Sarawak Consolidated Industries Bhd (SCIB) has proposed replacing Kreston John & Gan with Morison LC PLT as its external auditor.

In a statement, the construction and engineering group said it had formally notified Kreston John & Gan of its intention in a letter dated Oct 7, 2026, and requested the necessary clearance to facilitate the change.

“In this regard, SCIB has nominated Morison LC PLT as its proposed new external auditors, subject to the completion of the necessary procedures and regulatory requirements,” it said.

SCIB will undertake the relevant procedures in accordance with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

Executive director and chief executive officer Michael Tan Thian Zhi said the group would work with the relevant parties to ensure continuity in its financial reporting processes during the transition.

Separately, SCIB said it had secured four projects in Sabah worth a combined RM90.28mil since April 2026.
