PETALING JAYA: NuEnergy Holdings Bhd (NHB) has secured an RM10.1mil contract from KAB Energy Holdings Sdn Bhd for engineering works at the 120MW Labuan Power Plant in Labuan.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, NHB noted the contract requires it to design, construct, install, test and commission the Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) interconnection facilities and associated infrastructure for plant owner Rancha Power Sdn Bhd. The project is targeted for completion by the third quarter of 2027.

NHB stated the award marks a key milestone in its strategic expansion into the extra high voltage (EHV) and interconnection facility (IF) sectors.

"The Letter of Award represents a significant milestone for the Group. Successful execution of the Letter of Award will validate the Group's technical capability and execution capacity in delivering complex EHV and IF infrastructure projects," the company stated in a release.

It added the award will help it pursue larger-scale transmission, power infrastructure and other high-voltage projects, supporting the group's long-term growth strategy.
