Budget 2027 provides strong impetus for Malaysia's digital economy and inclusivity, particularly through its focus on improving access to digital infrastructure, wider AI adoption, sovereign AI cloud, enhanced cybersecurity and post-quantum cryptography.

We believe these initiatives will strengthen Malaysia's digital capabilities and lay a solid foundation for the country's competitiveness in the region.

TM also lauds the Government's continued efforts to strengthen national connectivity and digital inclusivity through the expansion of JENDELA, as well as improved coverage for Orang Asli villages, higher learning institutions and FELDA settlements.

The implementation of the SALAM submarine cable will further strengthen connectivity between Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak, while Kempen Internet Selamat supports safer online participation among Malaysians.

MSMEs are key drivers of the economy, and TM plays an active role in supporting their digital adoption. We are particularly encouraged by the announcement of Geran Sejahtera MADANI, which will help accelerate business growth among MSMEs and improve livelihoods.

We also welcome continued investment in NADI, TVET, Kampung Angkat MADANI and Sekolah Angkat MADANI, alongside the Government's commitment to improving public infrastructure, including schools and hospitals. As an operator of NADI, and through our Jangkau Digital and TM Future Skills programmes, TM sees how digital access and skills can make a meaningful difference to local communities.

The extension of green technology incentives is another positive measure. As demand for AI infrastructure and data centres grows, encouraging investment in energyefficient technologies will be increasingly important to support sustainable growth while minimising environmental impact.

As we celebrate 80 years of connecting the nation, we remain committed to supporting these national priorities through our extensive digital infrastructure and capabilities in cloud, AI, GPU, cybersecurity and AI-ready data centres. Guided by our Digital Powerhouse 2030 aspiration, we will continue contributing towards a more inclusive and progressive Malaysia.
