With Giant’s Lower Prices That Last campaign, shoppers don’t have to skimp on quality

NO matter how you look at it, prices for consumer goods have been soaring due to inflation, and everyone has been forced to tighten their belts.

Some have even changed their lifestyle to live within their means – such as cutting down on eating out, opting for generic products instead of branded goods, or buying second hand or preloved goods.

To help ease the pinch that many Malaysians have been feeling for some time now, Giant Malaysia launched a price campaign named Lower Prices That Last (Harga Lagi Rendah Lagi Lama) last November at all its Giant and Giant Mini stores.

And the good news is, that campaign is still going strong – providing shoppers with great prices while adding new essential items until today.

Giant is committed to maintaining these lower prices for a longer period so that more customers can take advantage of the campaign as it helps them stretch their money, in view of rising costs and the resulting financial strain experienced by many.

Rather than just hold flash promotions which people have to constantly look out for, Giant opted to keep its prices low for a list of products over a long term so that customers would be assured of stable prices any time they shop, thus eliminating the need to hoard or buy in bulk.

to help you with your weekly shopping – and as the slogan goes, make a “giant” difference to your shopping bill!

And it’s not just food prices; everything from household cleaners such as fabric softener and laundry detergent to personal care items like shampoo, shower gel and toothpaste, are included too.

Kat Yong, in her 50s, says that without a doubt her grocery bill has gotten higher.

“When it comes to things like tissue paper, soap, dishwashing liquid and other items that you use for your family, you don’t want to have to forfeit quality and get something cheaper but less effective or comfortable to use.

“You’re looking for good value for the money you have to fork out.

“I don’t always shop at Giant, so I didn’t know about this campaign. But it’s great to hear Giant is keeping prices lower over an extended period. I will go and buy my things at Giant,” she said.

Madhi Appan, 40s, is a bargain hunter and enjoys comparing prices and getting the best deals.

“I am very particular about the quality of things that I use at home, including toilet paper, tissues, household cleaning products and garbage bags,” he said.

“I don’t spend much on fresh food because I don’t cook at home. But I am pedantic about my household products.

“To be frank, I didn’t know that Giant’s prices were this low. I reckon I will be saving quite a lot in the long run because I often run out of these products and need to replenish stock.

“I actually regret buying from the other shops now that I know about this campaign,” he laughed.

Shafique Johari, 28, frequently accompanies his mother and grandmother on grocery runs.

“The price of groceries has definitely increased a lot in recent times. A few years ago, we could have gotten a lot more items in our trolley for RM50 but nowadays we can barely get much,” he said.

When told about Giant’s lower prices campaign, Shafique said it is good to know that the store offers such competitive prices.

“We are going through tough times and every sen saved can be used elsewhere,” he said.

In addition to personal and household care products, Giant recently included new items such as spin mop, induction cooker, steamer pot and deep frying pan. There’s also a string of fresh produce, canned food, sauces, coffee, rice and more.

Shop at any Giant store nationwide, or at your neighbourhood Giant Mini. Go to www.giant.com.my/lowerpricesthatlast for the full list of items with lower prices – just look out for the finger heart icon.
