OVER the weekend, Johor was rattled by two separate earthquakes within three hours. Tremors spread across Johor, Negri Sembilan, and even parts of Pahang. It was a reminder that Malaysia is not immune to seismic risks despite the long-held belief that the country is shielded by geography.
Malaysia has been described as “blessed” when it comes to natural disasters. Located outside major fault lines, we have been spared the quakes that strike our neighbours.
