Rising medical insurance premiums may place greater pressure on public healthcare


MCA once again calls on the government to address the growing number of policyholders dropping their medical insurance coverage due to rising premiums, as highlighted in Negara Malaysia’s recent White Paper on Medical and Health Insurance and Takaful (MHIT).

This is a warning that as private medical coverage becomes increasingly unaffordable, an already understaffed public healthcare system could face even greater pressure.
