Cyclists pose serious road safety issues

AFTER reading the reports “A dangerous manoeuvre”, “Foot towing a high risk act prone to mishaps” and “Ensure bikes are well maintained, riders urged” (The Star, Oct 1), I immediately thought about the foreign workers who ride bicycles recklessly at the Bayan Lepas Free Industrial Zone (FIZ), especially on the Bayan Lepas, Bayan Baru, Bukit Jambul and Relau roads.

The increasing number of foreign workers, both males and females, cycling haphazardly on these roads is becoming a very serious concern not only for the cyclists themselves but also other road users.
