IT IS always nice to have a personal touch when dealing with companies and businesses.
Customers tend to trust genuine interactions with real people more.
That said, is it true that Employees Provident Fund (EPF) CEO Ahmad Zulqarnain Onn is sending personal messages to contributors via messaging apps?
Verdict:

FALSE
In a Facebook post, EPF warned Malaysians to be wary of scams where unscrupulous parties send messages posing as its CEO.
"Scammers are becoming increasingly sophisticated, with some even impersonating the CEO of EPF to appear credible," read the post on Wednesday (Feb 11).
It warned the public not to be deceived by impersonation tactics, not to click on links from unknown numbers or share personal or financial information.
"If you believe you have fallen to a scam, remain calm and follow these three important steps:
"Contact the National Scam Response Centre (NSRC) at 997, notify your bank immediately and lodge a police report." It said.
EPF emphasised that all its dealings and matters are handled strictly through official channels and to always verify the authenticity of information through EPF's official website and social media platforms.
