LIGHTNING is not supposed to strike the same place twice, or so the saying goes.
For one Perak housewife, however, luck seemed to have made a remarkable return.
Did a Perak housewife really win the Sports Toto 4D Jackpot for a second time?
Verdict:

TRUE
A 50-year-old housewife from Perak has become Sports Toto's latest multi-millionaire after winning the RM12.95mil Toto 4D Jackpot 1 on Saturday (Aug 1).
The winner, who had been consistently buying Lucky Pick numbers with her husband over the past three years, said they started doing so after both lost their jobs during the movement control order (MCO) amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
She said the difficult period left her battling depression and partial memory loss, with her husband taking her to places they had visited in their younger days to help her recover cherished memories.
On one such trip to Lumut, the couple stopped in Sitiawan for lunch and bought a Lucky Pick ticket at a Sports Toto outlet.
"Those were some of the hardest years of our lives.
"My husband never gave up on me and always encouraged me to keep moving forward.
"We never imagined that a simple stop during one of our trips would change our lives forever," she said when collecting her winnings at STM Lottery's headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.
The win was her second Toto 4D Jackpot 1 success.
Three years ago, she won about RM1.4mil with another Lucky Pick ticket.
She said she discovered the latest win while her husband was checking the draw results on his mobile phone.
"At first, I thought we had read the numbers wrongly because it seemed impossible.
"Winning the jackpot once was already a blessing but winning it for the second time is beyond anything I could have imagined," she said.
The winning Lucky Pick numbers, 5900 and 6900, earned her RM12,946,225.55.
Despite her windfall, she said she plans to use the money as a retirement fund while donating part of it to underprivileged communities and charitable causes.
"We have experienced difficult times ourselves, so we understand how much a helping hand can mean.
"I hope this blessing will allow us to give back and make a positive difference in the lives of others," she said.
