Verdict:

TRUE
The Transport Ministry has clarified that there has been no policy change regarding the eligibility of vehicle types for use in e-hailing services.
The ministry issued a statement on its social media platforms to address confusion arising from media reports about the status of SUVs for e-hailing registration purposes.
"The Ministry wishes to emphasise that no policy changes have been made regarding the eligibility of vehicle types to be used in e-hailing services.
"All vehicles that meet technical requirements and have seating capacity between four (4) to eleven (11) people are eligible to be considered for e-hailing licensing (EHO)," the ministry said.
The clarification comes after reports suggested restrictions on the use of SUVs for e-hailing purposes.
The ministry stressed that the Land Public Transport Agency (Apad) has never issued any directive or statement limiting the use of SUVs for e-hailing registration.
"For information, Apad has never issued any directive or statement that restricts the use of SUV-type vehicles for e-hailing registration purposes," the ministry added.
The statement aims to provide clarity to e-hailing service providers and drivers who may have been confused by earlier media reports.
